Yamaha FG-612S
The Yamaha FG-612S is a twelve-string dreadnought produced in Japan from 1981 to 1985, with a solid spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, and a nato neck. Orange labels date the Japanese examples to between 1974 and 1985; white oval labels indicate Taiwanese manufacture from 1977 onward. Survivors with bone nuts, bone saddles, and a refret play far better than they have any right to, even with high-ish action. The factory hard cases on these have held up better than the chipboards on cheaper FG twelves.
