Yamaha FG-435BL
The Yamaha FG-435BL is a limited-run variant of the standard FG-435, produced exclusively in 1986 and manufactured in Taiwan. Distinguished by its black finish and white pickguard, it follows a recurring Yamaha tradition of special black-and-white FG models that stretches back to November 1976. The guitar carries the Dove headstock logo, which Yamaha used from 1985 until 1987 when it was replaced by the Leaf logo, making this a useful dating marker for any example. Its white oval label, the standard identifier for Taiwan-built FG guitars from 1977 through 2001, confirms its origin. Construction features a spruce top with nato back, sides, and neck. Fewer than a handful of examples have been documented by researchers, making the FG-435BL among the rarer entries in the FG catalog.
