Yamaha FG-420EC
The Yamaha FG-420EC is a cutaway acoustic-electric produced from 1985 to 1989, fitted with a System 5 under-saddle pickup. Its spruce top, toog back and sides, and nato neck follow standard FG-line construction. Guitars from this model carry either an orange label—used on Japan-built instruments through 1985—or a white oval label used on Taiwan-built examples from 1977 through 2001; identifying the label helps date and place a specific instrument. The dove headstock logo was replaced by a leaf logo during the production run, reportedly around 1987.
