Yamaha FG-420
The Yamaha FG-420 is a dreadnought produced from 1985 to 1989, with a spruce top, toog back and sides, and a nato neck. Guitars from this model carry either an orange label (Japan) or a white oval label (Taiwan). Owners describe deep bass and crystal clear highs, brighter and more bass-forward than the mahogany Yamahas of the era. The 44-millimeter nut and unusual toog wood combination keep it on a different shelf than the sister FGs. No players have been documented with this model.
