Yamaha FG-351

The Yamaha FG-351 was produced from 1975 to 1978 and is a dreadnought acoustic guitar featuring a spruce top (Ezo) with rosewood back and sides (Coral) and an African mahogany neck. Depending on when and where a particular example was made, it may carry one of several different labels, which are among the most reliable clues for dating these instruments. The tan label was used from 1972 to 1975 in both Japan and Taiwan; the black label ran from 1974 to 1977, also covering Japan and Taiwan; the orange label spanned 1974 to 1985 but appeared on Japanese-made guitars only; and the white oval label was used exclusively on Taiwanese production from 1977 to 2001. The FG-351 was part of Yamaha's rosewood-back-and-sides jumbo lineup introduced during this period, sitting alongside models such as the FG-345, FG-350W, FG-365S, FG-375S, and FG-351SB. No players are currently documented in association with this model.
