Yamaha FG-350
The Yamaha FG-350 is a jumbo-body acoustic built in Japan and Taiwan between 1969 and 1972. Guitars from this production run carry the red label, which Yamaha used from 1967 through 1972 across both its Japan and Taiwan production; instruments made from 1972 through 1975 carry the tan label instead, making the label one of the most reliable tools for dating a specific example. Construction features a spruce top, coral rosewood back and sides, and a mahogany neck. The FG-350 shares its hummingbird-style pickguard with the larger FG-300, and original pickguards on both models are prone to deterioration over the decades. Replica pickguards sized and patterned from original FG-300 and FG-350 examples are produced by at least one maker specifically for restoration of these guitars. Used examples appear on the market with some regularity, and the FG-350W variant is referenced in collector discussions alongside the standard model. No players have been documented in association with this guitar.
