Yamaha FG-346SB
The Yamaha FG-346SB is a one-year orange label model from 1984, built in Japan with a spruce top and mahogany back, sides, and neck, and unusual flower fretboard inlays not seen elsewhere in the FG line. The orange label era ran from 1974 to 1985 for Japanese-built instruments, placing this model near the end of that run. Only a handful of serial numbers have ever surfaced, with the only known production year being 1984; forum archivist CTGull noted that the first serial number posted was the only one he had encountered when logging it in the Yamaha Guitar Archive. Faded serials are apparently typical of survivors. For refrets, LMII FW74 wire is the recommended substitute, consistent with earlier FG models of similar construction.
