Yamaha FG-300S
The Yamaha FG-300S was produced from 1982 to 1986 with construction split between Japan and Taiwan. Japanese-made examples carry an orange label, used on Japan-made instruments from 1974 to 1985, while Taiwan-made examples carry a white oval label, used from 1977 to 2001, making label inspection one of the most reliable ways for buyers to identify a guitar's origin. The FG-300S is built with a spruce top, American walnut back and sides, and a Nato neck. No notable players have been documented in association with this model. It belongs to Yamaha's mid-range FG dreadnought line of the period.
