Yamaha FG-260
The Yamaha FG-260 is a twelve-string dreadnought produced from 1974 to 1977 in Japan and Taiwan, carrying a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and an African mahogany neck. Depending on when and where a particular guitar was made, it may carry one of several labels: the tan label ran from 1972 to 1975 across Japan and Taiwan, the black label from 1974 to 1977 across both countries, the orange label from 1974 to 1985 in Japan only, and the white oval label from 1977 to 2001 in Taiwan only. Owners describe big, chimey shimmer with strong projection and a full low end that survives even with the elevated action twelves usually carry. Common watch points on survivors include slight bridge gaps at the back edge and the typical action creep that comes with twelve-string tension over decades.
