The Yamaha FG-2500 is a jumbo-body, slot-head 12-string produced from 1971 to 1975, representing the top tier of Yamaha's handcrafted FG line. It features a solid Ezo spruce top, solid Jacaranda back and sides, and a Honduras mahogany neck. Label eras across its production span red (1967–1972), tan (1972–1975), black (1974–1977), and orange (1974–1985). Genuine solid tonewoods throughout make surviving examples rare and sought after, with prices reaching into the thousands.
