Yamaha FG-202D

The Yamaha FG-202D is a folk-size flattop built in Japan from 1980 to 1986, fitted with a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a nato neck. Two label variants exist depending on origin: an orange label was used on Japanese-made instruments from 1974 to 1985, while a white oval label identifies Taiwan-made examples and spans 1977 to 2001. The FG-202D was not distributed in the United States. The smaller body responds well to a tight setup, and survivors typically run low action at the twelfth fret with plenty of saddle still left. No notable players have been documented in association with this model.
