Yamaha FG-180-1
The Yamaha FG-180-1 was produced from 1974 to 1977 as part of the third-generation FG series, representing a revamp of the earlier FG-180 with the added "-1" suffix denoting updated specifications. Guitars from this run can carry one of three labels depending on origin and date: the Tan label (1972–1975, Japan and Taiwan), the Black label (1974–1977, Japan and Taiwan), or the Orange oval label (1974–1985, Japan only). Construction pairs a spruce top with Agathis back and sides and a mahogany neck. Some collectors note that the -1 models were built slightly heavier, with a marginally thicker finish, compared to the original FG-180, though individual examples vary.
