Yamaha FG-170-1
The Yamaha FG-170-1 was produced from 1974 to 1977 with a spruce top and mahogany back, sides, and neck. The "-1" suffix was added to many existing FG model numbers around 1975, appearing in a small font on the label — a detail collectors sometimes overlook when identifying the model. Depending on year and origin, examples may carry a tan label (1972–1975), black label (1974–1977), or orange label (1974–1985), with Taiwanese production after 1977 bearing a white oval label.
