Yamaha FG-160E

The Yamaha FG-160E was produced from 1972 to 1974, making it a relatively short-run model within the FG series. Guitars from this period may carry a Tan label (used 1972–1975 on Japanese and Taiwanese instruments), a Black label (1974–1977, Japan and Taiwan), or an Orange label (1974–1985, Japan only), making the label one of the most reliable tools for dating a specific example. The FG-160E is an acoustic-electric, fitted with a single-coil pickup near the neck. Its construction features a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a Nato neck. No players have been documented in association with this model.
