Yamaha FG-151B
The Yamaha FG-151B is the orange label revision of the FG-151, made in Japan from 1978 to 1980 with a spruce top over mahogany back and sides and a nato neck. It carries an orange label, used on Japan-made instruments from 1974 to 1985, distinguishing it from the white oval label applied to Taiwan-made examples produced between 1977 and 2001. Owners describe a rich, bright voice and the kind of comfortable late-seventies dreadnought playability these orange labels are known for. The FG-151B had no US distribution, making it a Japan-only model, and clean examples have been turning up after recent imports to the US.
