Depending on when and where a particular example was made, it may carry one of several labels: the tan label was used from 1972 to 1975 across Japan and Taiwan; the black label ran from 1974 to 1977, also across both countries; the orange label spanned 1974 to 1985 but appeared on Japanese production only; and the white oval label ran from 1977 to 2001 on Taiwanese instruments exclusively. This label history is the most reliable tool for buyers trying to date a specific guitar. The FG-151 has a 25-inch scale length and a 1.75-inch nut width.
